Earlier investigations by the Inspectorate reveal that health care institutions and individual practitioners are not adequately aware of the risks posed by medical technology (equipment and devices).

Improper or inexpert use causes dozens of fatal incidents each year. In some cases, users have not had the training required to operate advanced medical devices. In others, poor maintenance is to blame for serious incidents. In order to monitor the risks raised by medical technology, the Inspectorate is to conduct a number of monitoring projects focusing on this theme in 2010.

The final reports of the investigations and the underlying reports on individual health care institutions will be published actively on this website.
